Coronation Street’s Kevin Kennedy – what Curly Watts star is up to now
Coronation Street star Kevin Kennedy was in the beloved soap for 20 years.
He was known for playing iconic Coronation Street cast member Curly Watts on the ITV programme, with the character joining the cobbles in 1983.
With his trademark glasses and bowl cute, Curly was the character who didn't have the best luck.
Most of his storylines dealt with his repeated failure to form a successful romantic relationship.
His nickname was because he had straight, lank hair and getting into rows over money, mainly in 1996.

Curly Watts, was part of the show for 20 years, before leaving in 2003.
Kevin, 58, is currently celebrating 21 years sober, and has said the soap saved his life.
Speaking the Sun last month, he said: "It was only when Coronation Street got involved, when they packed me off to rehab that I started on the long hard to recovery. If they hadn't, there's a chance I wouldn't be here today."
He's also spoken about wanted to return to the soap, saying: "I'd love to go back. I am always being linked with a return and of course if they asked me I’d be there.

"I adore the show – I still think it is the best soap on TV by miles. And it would be nice to go back, after everything I have learned, and have another chance to be a part of such a great programme.
"But we will have to see what the future holds."

Kevin is the patron of Kennedy St CiC, a social enterprise run by people in recovery.
They promote recovery from addiction and offer training and education locally in Brighton and Hove.
As well as being part of Coronation Street, Kevin was also in plenty of other television shows. after leaving the soap.
These included Doctors in 2006 where he played Mick Carter and Holby City in 2017 – playing the role of Graham Ollerinshaw.
He's also dabbled in musical theatre, playing the part of Denis Dupree in Rock of Ages from 2018 to 2019.
