Coronation Street's Katie McGlynn reveals even SHE doesn't know if Sinead Tinker will die in heartbreaking cancer storyline
The actress admitted she was unsure of what was going to happen and that if new mum does die, she’d be happy.
The Corrie star said to The Sunday Post: "I'm contracted well into this year but it is up in the air.
"Although I have to wait and see what happens, I quite like not knowing.
"With the nature of my storyline, I guess it's 50/50. Either way I'd be happy, though.
"Viewers have been gripped by the tragic storyline that has seen young Sinead battle cervical cancer as she goes through her pregnancy.
Everything comes to ahead in tonight's episode as Sinead is told the cancer has spread and they have to perform an emergency c-section.
Baby son Bertie arrives prematurely and as he fights for survival, so too will Sinead.
Corrie boss Iain MacLeod has said before that he still hasn't decided how Sinead's cancer storyline will end, with Katie has echoing his thoughts by admitting that her fate is "up in the air".
In Monday’s episode, Sinead and husband Daniel Osbourne learn that the cancer has worsened and that immediate radiotherapy is needed.
After having an emergency Caesarean she collapses and baby Bertie is rushed away by nurses.
Katie said today on ITV’s Loose Women that the soap have been consulting charity Mummy’s Star, which supports women and families dealing with pregnancy and cancer.
She explained: “Corrie have been brilliant. Pete Wallroth [who founded the charity] and his story is absolutely heartbreaking.
“When I was in a meeting with him, I felt like a real fraud because I’m just an actor. “He was telling me his story where his wife has cancer."
She continued: “She found out when she was pregnant, near the end. She had a baby, and she died 10 weeks after giving birth.”
Katie revealed that she had really enjoyed her time on the soap and while it would be amazing to stay, it would be exciting to see what else was out there.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
