But next week he takes a step in the right direction as he finally listens to his dad Ken.

Peter goes to the Rovers but soon has to leave when he’s overwhelmed by the noise

Later, Ken catches Peter sweating profusely and on the brink of another seizure.

Ken is horrified to realise Peter has been tipping his medicinal whisky down the sink and drives home the importance of not cutting alcohol out completely.

Peter knocks down the whisky that his dad administers for him.

Corrie viewers watched Peter violently lash out at his dad in recent scenes when he tried to stop him drinking himself to death.

Ken had been trying to stop bars and pub from serving Peter but to his dismay he found his son downing pints at a bar.

When Ken poured the contents of Peter’s glass away, Peter swung at him and smashed him in the face.

The pensioner was left sprawled on the floor with blood pouring from his nose.
