Coronation Street spoilers: Geoff Metcalfe to ‘frame’ Tim for stealing from Yasmeen Nazir
Geoff (played by Ian Bartholomew) has been taking centre stage in a harrowing coercive control storyline on Coronation Street alongside wife Yasmeen (Shelley King) as he dictates how she should live her life, including taking control of her finances. The ITV soap villain’s son Tim (Joe Duttine) has been flitting in and out of the abuse plot, being the character with the most suspicions about his father’s marriage. However, as he comes close to discovering the truth, could the pensioner be setting plans in motion to ensure his son is framed instead of him?
Last year, Geoff became co-owner of the Speed Daal restaurant which his wife’s family had established when they settled on the cobbles.
Since then, he has isolated Yasmeen from the business, taking control of both her finances and those of the Middle Eastern eatery.
Episodes airing earlier this week saw the abusive character dip his hands in the till, stashing money at home despite his beloved’s granddaughter Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) still being a prominent figure at the restaurant.
However, it seems tonight’s instalments of the Weatherfield drama could be suggesting the villain is going to frame someone else for stealing from his other half, with Tim top of the list.

Watching newlyweds Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) wallowing in their glee in the café, the taxi-driver voiced his distaste to his father.
“Hey, don’t talk to me about romance. Hundred quid Sally wants us to spend on a flipping wedding cake,” Tim declared.
Referencing the money he still owes to his friends for helping him get rid of his wife, Charlie Woods (Sian Reeves), Sally Metcalfe’s (Sally Dynevor) husband revealed he did not want to flush the cash of his own big day.
“Have you suggested doing it on a budget?” Geoff asked, with his son not best pleased by the suggestion.
How about I pay for the whole thing?

“I committed bigamy dad,” he explained, with Tim’s father then going to pay for their breakfasts with a wad of cash.
Later on, the taxi-driver arrived at the Speed Daal restaurant to speak with Geoff about a favour for his wedding day.
“I don’t suppose you can do me a massive favour and give me a family discount on the catering for my wedding?” he asked.
“Nope,” the villain replied, before adding: “Because I’ll do one better. How about I pay for the whole thing?”

“Are you sure?” Tim replied, to which his father said: “Within reason. Keep the expensive cakes to a minimum.”
The taxi-driver was ecstatic his money woes seemed to be a distant memory, but his troubles are just over the horizon.
It’s not yet known if Geoff will pay with the cash he seems to be stealing from the business, or by making a transaction from his wife’s bank account.
If he chooses the latter plan, this would provide evidence of money being taken from the pensioner’s account to her step-sons.
