Coronation Street babes transform into sexy footballers in throwback photograph

Coronation Street icon Jane Danson has left fans floored with a sexy throwback snap featuring her female co-stars.

In the sweet pic, she and her cobbles co-stars can be seen kitted out in England football uniforms featuring the Umbro logo.

She sits alongside fellow actress Tracy Shaw, who played Maxine Peacock in the soap, with her hair arranged in a middle parting with strands falling to frame her face.

Behind them perch Denise Welch, who rose to fame as Natalie Barnes on the Street in 1997, Angela Griffin who appeared as hairdresser Fiona Middleton until 1998, and Beverley Callard, best known for playing Liz McDonald.

All five women had ramped up the sex appeal for the sporty snapshot, with Angela leaning over to rest her hands on Jane and Tracy’s shoulders.

The snap was taken to commemorate the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Jane sweetly captioned the snap: "Here’s another classic pic!", tagging pal Denise Welch in the post.

And Denise was quick to comment, as she posted: "Zero memory of this match!!! Did I win??" with a trio of cry-laughing emojis.

Jane admitted her hair wasn’t how she wanted it to appear in the snap, writing: "I remember it so well – I had my ‘Leanne’ hair and I was gutted it was like that on the photo!"

Angela Griffin, meanwhile, quipped: "Goooooal! My goodness they had us doing all sorts!"

Jane clearly had fond memories of the time, as she responded to her: "Hahaha good times Ang!"

Plenty more of Jane’s current co-stars also hopped into the comments section to show her some love, with Georgia Taylor – who plays Leanne’s sister Toyah – writing: "Amazing! xx".

Rachel Leskovac, who plays Natasha Blakeman on the cobbles, penned: "This is amazing!" with a row of clapping emojis.

Another fan thought the five looked like a rather different gang altogether, posting: "Thought it was the Spice Girls at first!"

Jane has long since been entertaining fans with her stunning throwback snaps, last month posting a TV Guide cover which showed Leanne and Nick during their first wedding.

Nick Tilsley was then played by actor Adam Rickitt, before the role was taken over by Ben Price in 2009.

The star wrote alongside the picture: "Don’t know if we still do throwback Thursday but I just saw this and it made me feel happy. @Adamrickitt such fun carefree times when the world was a happier place!"

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
