Coleen Rooney remembers late sister Rosie on her 21st birthday with sweet family snaps

The 32-year-old star shared a series of pictures, writing: "If only you were here to celebrate Rosie Mc, we would have the biggest party for the most special girl. Happy 21st Birthday Ro ???."

Among the pictures was a lovely black and white shot of Coleen looking adoringly at her little sister.

There is also an old snap of husband Wayne cradling a delighted Rosie, who is wearing a pink tracksuit.

Rosie died aged 14 in 2013, after a lifelong battle with the rare brain disorder Rett syndrome, which causes severe disabilities.

Followers posted their own tributes, with one writing: "Happy heavenly 21st birthday to our Rosie Angel. Hope you are dancing and having fun with all your Angel friends sweet girl. ????."

Another posted: "Lovey family picture memories never leave you happy 21st birthday Rosie ❤️."

A third said: "That 1st picture of you both us just stunning. The love between you both is so clear x."

Days before Rosie died, when it became clear her condition was deteriorating, Coleen and the family cut their Barbados holiday short.

She said at the time: "So glad we ended our holiday short, due to her deteriorating & we was able to spend the last few days together with her an our family."

She added: "Sleep tight Rosie Mc x. We love you more than words can say x."

A statement released at the time of Rosie's death said that Coleen, her husband Wayne and the rest of their family had been left "heartbroken".

It read: "She was such a strong little girl and an inspiration to us all. We shall cherish forever the memories we have shared and the love she showed us each and every day of her life."

Coleen also posted a picture tribute to Rosie in January, to mark six years since she passed away.

She wrote then: "Forever in our thoughts. Love you Rosie. #6Years."
