Chas reveals pregnancy bombshell months after harrowing baby death on Emmerdale

Chas Dingle revealed that she was pregnant – just months after her baby’s harrowing baby death.

During tonight’s International Women’s Day episode, Chas confided in Laurel as she visited her daughter’s grave.

Paddy Kirk and Chas were left devastated last year after discovering their first child together had bilateral renal agenesis, meaning that their baby would not survive outside the womb.

Chas found out the heartbreaking news at at the 20-week scan, but struggled to deal with the truth and kept the news to herself. Eventually she told Paddy, who was left utterly heartbroken.

After she gave birth their daughter, who they named Grace, died in Chas’ arms .

Leaving daffodils by Grace’s grave, Chas bumped into Laurel, who was honouring husband Ashley’s stone.

"Thank you," Chas told Laurel.

Laurel asked what she meant, prompting Chas to explain: "Before she was born, you probably don’t remember but you said that I’s surprise myself and feel strength when I least expected it."

"I remember," Laurel responded.

"You were right," Chas said. "And it’s a big surprise."

Concerned, Laurel asked: "Why, what’s happened?"

Chas revealed: "I probably shouldn’t say but hey, it didn’t make any difference last time.

"I was late, I didn’t feel any sickness or anything so I ignored it but I finally made myself do a test this morning and it was positive. I’m pregnant."
