Carol McGiffin confesses she was ‘still drunk’ on arrival at Loose Women studio

Carol McGiffin suggested she was "still drunk" from a big night out when she arrived at Loose Women.

Nadia Sawalha had already introduced the star with her head on a cushion on the desk, joking that she was in recovery from a major night of boozing.

But the 58-year-old said she was starting to feel the effects of an entire WEEK of nights out, and she may still have been dealing with the alcohol in her system when she arrived on set.

When asked about her arrival at the morning meeting, Carol said: "I think I was still drunk. I have been out every night for over a week know and almost every day."

Jane Moore then joked she had to have "the hair of the dog" when she came in, at which Carol gestured for her to be quiet and not reveal all her hangover secrets.

Carol also revealed she will start to feel a little drunk after only a glass and a half of wine, joking that she is a "cheap date."

She said: "I am not a heavy drinker, I am a cheap date."

As the group continued to talk about the festivities of the season, and their "festive fatigue," Carol admitted she had actually doesn’t like to give presents, saying her and her boyfriend Mark will be going on holiday for the season, which is their present to one another.

Carol said: "I have made my presents for everyone – it’s presence! I just go and see them.

“He [Mark] doesn’t need anything or want anything. We are going on holiday soon and that’s our present.”

Carol was later reunited with her former Loose Woman who she has not appeared on television with for five years, Carol Vorderman.
