BRITs host Jack Whitehall makes savage dig at Simon Cowell over Little Mix spat

Jack Whitehall sparked controversy from the start of the BRITs 2019 ceremony as he made a huge dig at Simon Cowell over his spat with Little Mix.

The comedian ruffled feathers last year with his cheeky digs at several celebs including One Direction’s Niall Horan.

Tonight, he caused mayhem once again as he made a reference to Simon Cowell’s drama with Little Mix while hosting the 29th BRITs live from the O2 Arena.

Wasting no time, as he teased the band’s upcoming performance in his opening speech, Jack said: "A girlband who recently split from their record label…

"Yes… Simon Cowell will be asking his surgeon to put  brave face on him if they win big tonight."

As he made the gag, the audience burst into laughter, and viewers at home soon took to social media to discuss the savage remark.

One wrote: "HE JUST SHADED SIMON COWELL. HAHAHAHAHA BRITs LittleMixAtTheBRITs".

While another added: "0.5 seconds into the BRITs and jack is already roasting simon cowell, i love it".

A third chipped in: "Jack Whitehall really just threw that shade at Simon Cowell for Little Mix leaving his label".

Simon, who was not in attendance, has not yet responded to the jibe.

Even before the ceremony begun, celebs were causing drama early on the red carpet with a plethora of outrageous outfits.

Leading the charge was Love Island star Montanta Brown, who turned up in a very skimpy outfit that left very little to the imagination .

The BRITs were also forced to apologise after Lily Allen swore on the red carpet during a live feed.

Lily won an award in 2010 and made a dramatic entrance to the award show, flying in on a glittery rocket, then negotiating a staircase and army-themed dancers.

Lily spoke of her trying not to slip on the staircase, saying: "I flew on this rocket. I was s******* myself."
