Bond odds new favourite to replace Daniel Craig knocks out Hardy after THESE major rumours

It’s not so much a case of shaken and stirred. Rather, we are all feeling confused and conflicted as the race to replace Daniel Craig keeps pulling the rug from under us. However, a series of leaked comments recently suggest there is already a winner. Highlander hunk Sam Heughan had been out in front through the end of last year as the likes of Tom Hardy fell out of contention, but an old favourite has just shouldered everyone aside amid reports he is finalising the deal.

All the British bookies now have McMafia and Grantchester actor James Norton as the clear favourite.

Norton has rocketed out in front with new odds of 13/8 according to Boyle Sports.

A spokesperson said; “James Norton would make a great James Bond and it’s no wonder we are seeing a large increase in bets placed on him. He fits the bill being British, tall and extremely fit and the 13/8 odds could shorten even further if the betting so far is anything to go by.”

Heughan remains close on his heels on 5/2.

The star with the greatest staying-power has been Tom Hiddleston.

Overshadowed early on by Idris Elba, he mains a strong outside on 7/2.

Former hot favourite Richard Madden has slipped way back to 8/1, but is still faring considerably better than Ton Hardy on 12/1.

There are also some rather horrifying possibilities.

Could departing Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn be considering a radical career change?

He has odds of 100/1, neck and neck with bitter political enemy Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Somewhat bizarrely they are both viewed to be twice as likely to take over as 007 as actual Hollywood star and leading man Colin Farrel, on 200/1.

Norton’s name was suddenly on everyone’s lips after a shock report earlier this month in The Sun.

It said: “Numerous meetings and secret squirrel script readings were had at the back end of last year.

“James has always been in the frame but until four months ago there were no concrete moves. Producers wanted a Brit and James ticks all the boxes — tall, strapping, physically fit and, of course, looks great in a dinner jacket…

Everyone is hoping to get the deal confirmed and signed off, with an announcement in the summer.”

No Time To Die will be released in UK cinemas on April 3.

There is unlikely to be any announcement before that which could pull focus from the main film.

The bookies recently had a strong performance with the revelation last week that the singer of the Bond 25 theme tune would be Billy Eilish, who had been the second favourite after Dua Lipa.
