BBC News: ‘What’s that all about?’ Charlie Stayt’s appearance leaves viewers distracted

BBC Breakfast presenters Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty welcomed the day’s new headlines this morning.

However as Ben Thompson presented his latest in financial news, Charlie began distracting viewers.

Whilst Charlie was listening to Ben’s latest report he stretched out his leg past the show’s coffee table.

And this extension was enough to show fans at home his red socks and the top part of his ankle.

Although Charlie was simply stretching his legs throughout the show, fans of the presenter just couldn’t deal with it.

In bewildered glory, Charlie’s fans began tweeting about his flaunting.

One viewer pointed out: “Charlie showing a bit of leg this morning #BBCBreakfast.”

While another asked: “@BBCBreakfast #BBCbreakfast has Charlie got Minisport Mike’s trousers on?”

One questioned: “Is Charlie wearing wellies? Or long socks over his trouser legs? What’s that all about? #BBCbreakfast.”

Fortunately for Charlie nothing was mentioned in the show about his display.

This wasn’t the first wardrobe conversation that has happened this week.

Yesterday Dan Walker hit out at viewers about criticisms Louise Minchin received about her wardrobe.

Discussing purchasing new clothes, Louise announced: “When Lent is over I might go back to the shops!

“But you all might have an opinion on me – you’ve all seen my wardrobe!”

Dan went on to discuss the situation further as he began saying: “Also the other end of it is…

“In this job I can literally wear the same suit three days on the trot and no one cares! But if you wore the same shirt…”

Louise jumped in: “If I wore the same shirt three days in a row!”

Dan continued: “You’d get grief for it! Which is annoying and wrong!”

Louise continued the segment by moving on: “Yes, well, anyway.”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
