BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty accused of ‘fighting talk’ after co-star swipe

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty was accused of "fighting talk" after she took a playful swipe aimed at her co-star.

The newsreader, 48, took up her usual spot on the red sofa alongside Charlie Stayt as they presented viewers with the top headlines of the day.

The duo are normally joined by meteorologist Carol Kirkwood, however the Scottish star was nowhere to be seen on Thursday (March 23).

Stepping in for Carol for the fourth day running was fellow weather presenter Matt Taylor who took viewers through the forecasts across the next few days.

Earlier in the programme, Matt revealed it would be a sunny start to the day but warned viewers not to get excited as there was also a chance of rain as the day progressed.

Naga was unhappy at the weather outcome, before Matt said he was simply "warning" her of what was ahead.

After chatting to Mike Bushell who shared the sports headlines later on in the show, Naga reintroduced Matt into the studio.

The radio host said: "We're being spoilt by Matt this morning with some glorious pictures. Morning."

"I do spoil it though, straight afterwards don't I?" the weatherman responded, referring to his previous weather bulletin.

As Matt stood blocking the photo of the sun, Naga joked: "Well, you're standing in front of it, yes."

Hitting back, the 46-year-old replied: "Ooh, fighting talk. Thank you very much, Naga".

It comes after Naga and Charlie were spotted together enjoying a cigarette in the smoking area of a bar in Manchester.

Charlie, 60, was seen drinking a pint of beer and having a cigarette while enjoying the dry weather and kept warm wearing a trendy khaki coat.

While Naga opted for a black North Face jacket and completed her casual look with knee-high boots.
