Ballers Season 5 will have a ‘shock death’ and all-star cameos says London Brown

Ballers season five is just days away, and Fat Reggie star London Brown says fans have a lot to look forward to when the new season arrives.

Arriving on Now TV and HBO on 25 August, season 5 is set to be the biggest yet, with guest stars aplenty and some shocking ‘twists and turns’ in the comedy drama.

London told Metro.co.uk what fans can expect from the next season: ‘I think people are going to enjoy a lot of different cameos in season five and it’s also going to be very funny.

‘It’s a tray of delicacies and appetisers which I think everyone will find to be enjoyable. There are a lot of interesting twists and turns that are coming about and as the show moves on [the characters] are a lot more business savvy and we’re all trying to make things happen and turn all these investments into something special.’

While he didn’t want to give too much away, London revealed that we would be seeing the back of one of the characters, explaining: ‘Here’s a small spoiler – there might be some possible deaths in this season.

‘I found that out on the last day of filming that there’s deaths, so I was like “wow”.’

While he’s remaining tight-lipped on which of the characters might be meeting their end, he revealed that his character is going to be much more likeable this time around.

Fans loved to hate Fat Reggie at the start of HBO’s number one series, but he has won them over more recently with his loyalty to Vernon.

London explained: ‘I had a lot of threats in season one. Oh man, people wanted to fight when I was out and about, I’ve been confronted a few times and people would come up to me and ask me why I was spending my friend’s money, and I was like “what? Listen that’s on the show, I have nothing to do with that!”

‘So now, at the end of season five, people approach me now with a smile as opposed to a bit of hate but I don’t mind it at all because people are emotionally invested in the show. But I think people definitely will understand the changes that Reggie has made.’

He added that there would be some big names in this season including Migos and Odell Beckham Jr, as well as Russell Brand making appearances – and we can’t wait to see it!

Ballers returns to Now TV and HBO on 25 August 2019.
