Avengers Endgame spoilers: Is THIS character’s return MORE than meets the eye?

Fans knew the Avengers who survived Infinity War would stop at nothing to resurrect their fallen friends. And fans also knew time travel would be key to the Avengers: Endgame plot. With these two facts in mind, many fans speculated those heroes killed by Thanos, as opposed to snapped, may still return in Endgame. Warning: major spoilers below.

Is Loki’s return more than meets the eye?

One character to return via time travel was Loki, the trickster god and half-brother of Thor.

When Iron Man, Ant-Man, Captain America, and Professor Hulk go back to 2012, the former pair seek to steal the Tesseract.

However, a major mishandling on their part leads to Loki escaping with the Tesseract and vanishing into another dimension with it.

AVENGERS ENDGAME: THIS CHARACTER’S FATE IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS

Many presumed this would enable Loki, who was definitely dead by the end of Infinity War, a way to land in the new universe of his Disney+ series.

However, this causes a lot of problems for fans of the Loki we know from 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War.

By Infinity War, Loki had evolved, having gone from troublesome trickster to a good guy who even sacrifices himself for his brother.

AVENGERS ENDGAME: WHY HAWKEYE GOT SO DARK AND BECAME RONIN REVEALED

This means his TV series won’t feature the Loki we all know and love for his character arc.

Instead, the self-preservationist Loki will be the main character.

And in what dimension he will mess about remains to be seen.

AVENGERS ENDGAME: WHY CAPTAIN MARVEL AND OKOYE WERE BARELY IN ENDGAME

The Russo brothers have already established the existence of multiple dimension in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So the idea that Loki could travel from dimension to dimension is not out of the realm of possibility.

This means Loki could pop back up in a future MCU film as well as run rampant in his TV series.

Only time will tell and so far the Loki series has not been given a UK release date.

Avengers: Endgame is now playing in cinemas.
