‘Avengers: Endgame’ Presales Appear to Be on Track for Record Opening

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

We know “Avengers: Endgame” will be big, but the question of just how big remains.
New domestic presales estimates seem to put the upcoming MCU flick on track for a record opening. Advanced ticket sales of more than $120 million are expected, according to Deadline’s sources. The numbers reportedly could even hit $140 million.
While these aren’t official predictions from Disney, nor are the presales estimates necessarily just for opening weekend, it’s clear that fans are excited. Fandango announced earlier this month that “Endgame” sold five times as many tickets in its first week as “Infinity War” did. Given that “Infinity War” had the biggest domestic opening of all time, it seems “Endgame” is poised to top it.
In order to take the record, “Endgame” needs to surpass $257.7 million in ticket sales for its debut weekend. Forbes expects the number to range between $230 million and $283 million, while Deadline reports that $300 million still isn’t out of the question. We’ll find out soon.
“Avengers: Endgame” hits theaters April 26.
