Ant and Dec lining up Richard Madeley for I’m A Celebrity – and say ITV has offered Piers Morgan a HUGE fee to go on

ANT and Dec have admitted they're desperate to get Richard Madeley to appear in this year's I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The telly hosts are keen for the blunder-prone TV presenter to try his luck in the jungle – and revealed ITV have offered Piers Morgan a big money fee to star.

Speaking to Susanna Reid at the Royal Television Society conference, the much-loved Geordie duo spilled their dream guests – with Susanna's GMB co-host making the cut.

They dished: "Piers has said he would do it for a certain amount of money, which I think we could meet, but he keeps on wriggling out of it.

"We have a list that we get every year and we add to it and subtract from it.

"On our list at the moment, one person we are tracking down this year is Richard Madeley."

The pair also named radio DJ Tim Westwood and ex-England football star Alan Shearer as their dream campmates.

Piers has previously said he would need jaw-dropping sums of money to do the famous show, boasting last year: "You give me, let’s say, £10 million, and I’ll fly in tomorrow and win it."

That would be an enormous jump compared to the biggest deal to date which was bagged by Noel Edmonds.

The 70-year-old Deal Or No Deal star was paid £600,000 last year – despite being voted out first.

So far a slew of showbiz names have been thrown into the mix for this year's series, including ex EastEnder Jacqueline Jossa, Corrie's Lucy Fallon, Love Island's Amy Hart and Towie's Olivia Attwood.

Ant will be returning to I'm A Celeb for the first time since 2017 in November.

He was replaced by This Morning Holly Willoughby during the last series after taking a break from TV commitments following his conviction for drink driving.
