Alesha Dixon replaces Mel B on America's Got Talent: The Champions judging panel

Alesha Dixon has been unveiled as the new America’s Got Talent judge, replacing Spice Girl Mel B.

She will be joining pal Simon Cowell, as well as Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel, on the panel across the pond, for the upcoming Champions series.

Magician – and reigning America’s Got Talent: The Champions winner – Shin Lim confirmed the news in a card trick.

Alesha later shared the news on Twitter, posting a snap of herself ready for action.

Alongside the poster, the 40-year-old – who is expecting her second child with partner Azuka Ononye – told fans: News Alert!!! SUPER EXCITED to be joining @AGT #AGTChampions.’

And fans quickly flooded the post with well wishes.

‘OMG this is amazing,’ one commented. ‘I’m so happy and pleased for you Alesha! AD making waves in USA again x.’

Another replied: ‘Oooh, Alesha, that’s wonderful!!!!’

‘Wow! Exciting opportunity! Sure you’ll smash it and they’ll love you as much as the UK does,’ a follower wrote.

However, more concerned fans questioned whether this meant the singer would be leaving the ITV series.

We seriously hope not.

Alesha has been a staple of the BGT panel since she first joined, all the way back in 2012.

Before this, the mum-to-be was on the Strictly Come Dancing panel for three years, replacing Arlene Phillips.

It is not yet known when exactly she’ll be making the jump across the pond.

Alesha has a lot to celebrate at the moment, after she revealed she was expecting her second child with beau Azuka.

Speaking about her baby news, she revealed she was more ‘relaxed’ than she was when expecting daughter Azura.

‘I feel great actually, I feel so much more relaxed this time around’, she told the Loose Women panel.

‘It’s great the first time around, you read every single book going and the second time you’re like, I’ve got this.’

She also revealed that her Azura is ‘excited’ to become a big sister, adding: ‘Azura is amazing, she’s doing really well and kisses me every day and making sure everything’s okay.

‘She’s so excited, beyond excited.’
