Adam Lambert: Queen star laughs at THAT scorned Freddie Mercury move in Bohemian Rhapsody
Adam Lambert, who has been performing Freddie Mercury’s vocal parts with Queen for several years now, couldn’t hide his amusement when he was asked about the giant prosthetic teeth worn by Rami Malek in his role as the iconic singer in 2018’s Bohemian Rhapsody. In an interview with The Telegraph in September, Lambert burst out laughing when they were mentioned.
“They were big!” he exclaimed, reportedly seeming unsure of how to react.
The huge false teeth Malek wore during his portrayal of Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody were widely scorned when the movie was released last year.
In an interview with The Wrap, the actor, who won an Oscar for the role, admitted the teeth made him insecure at first.
He also explained how difficult they were to navigate, saying: “They started out being pretty difficult to deal with. We tried out all different sizes and when they first went in I felt very insecure, but I immediately compensated.

“Physically, I started to sit with more posture and elegance and I thought, ‘Oh, he is so elegant!’
“You see him covering up his lips and his teeth all the time, and I could never quite get the hang go it,” he continued. “But as soon as those teeth went in, it was done.
“It was little things like that that were very informative for me.”
Lambert himself had a cameo alongside Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody.
A meta moment saw him playing a trucker in a road-side tryst with Mercury in a gas station toilet in the US.
Meanwhile, Lambert also opened up about following in Mercury’s footsteps and performing as frontman with Queen.
Acknowledging the criticism which met the announcement of the collaboration back in 2012, he told The Telegraph: “I get it. I was sceptical when they asked me.
“I wish that it was still Freddie up there, but since he’s not with us I’m really happy to take the job,” he added.

Elsewhere, Lambert recently revealed the “inappropriate” gift he was once asked to give Queen legend Brian May.
Having his memory of his own career tested in a Q&A with NME, he was asked: “What gift did Alan Carr once hand you to give to Queen guitarist Brian May?”
Laughing, the For Your Entertainment singer replied: “Wasn’t it Frizz-Ease?”
Lambert went on to admit he didn’t go through with delivering the present, saying: “No, I didn’t give it to him — I didn’t think that would be appropriate! It was a rhetorical gift.”
The hilarious moment occurred during Lambert’s appearance on Carr’s show, Chartty Man, back in 2015, shortly before he and Queen were due to travel to Brazil to perform at Rock In Rio.
Carr remarked on how big May’s famous curls would get in the humidity before instructing Lambert to pass on the cheat gift.
The collaboration between Queen and Lambert was sparked during the latter’s time on American Idol in 2009 when May and drummer Roger Taylor appeared on the show.
They first performed together in 2011 before touring Europe as Queen + Adam Lambert the following year.
