2019 Golden Globe Nominations: Full List

Nothing’s ever a sure bet in Hollywood. This morning, the 2019 Golden Globes nominations were announced. While some of the nominees were a total shoe-in, others not so much. Surprisingly, it was Adam McKay’s politically-charged Vice that came out on top in the film categories and snagged a total of six nods. Predictably, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s campaigning paid off, with A Star Is Born receiving five nominations. The Favourite and Green Book also tied for second place with five nominations each.

Perhaps the biggest milestone moment came courtesy of Marvel Studios, with Black Panther becoming the first superhero movie to receive a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture – Drama. But that’s not all! Black Panther also scored a nod for Best Original Song. If you quiet down for just a second, you can hear the joyous whaling of the MCU fandom as they celebrate this very well-earned and momentous feat.

As expected, FX’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace came out on top in the TV categories with a total of four nominations. Meanwhile, underrated gems like The Americans, Barry, Homecoming, The Kominsky Method, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and A Very English Scandal racked up a total of three nominations each.

The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Sunday, January 6 from 5-8 p.m. PT. Sandra Oh (who is also a nominee for Killing Eve) and Andy Samberg will co-host, so you know it’ll be a party this year!
