Wilder in incredible snub to Whyte and Chisora as he admits he didn’t know result of epic fight

The American heavyweight was spreading Christmas cheer at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, but was too focused on fights occurring his side of the pond to be concerned with the battle at the 02 arena.

The Bronze Bomber retained his WBC heavyweight belt last month when his fight with with British heavyweight Tyson Fury was declared a split decision draw.

But, he appeared blissfully ignorant to the pulsating fight between two British boxers.

Speaking ringside, the American boxer was asked if he'd seen the fight in England, where Whyte knocked out Chisora in the 11th, but Wilder shook his head.

When the interviewer broke down the fight and explained how it unfolded, Wilder listened intently and only commented on how Anthony Joshua had been received at the 02.

Wilder chuckled and said: "I hear they were booing the s***t out of [Anthony] Joshua there though."

The interviewer took the opportunity to keep the subject on the Watford-born boxer, but Wilder insisted that he had his eyes on a rematch with Fury instead.

Wilder said: "It's interesting. The heavyweight division is so lit right now..

"Right now it's all about the holidays and enjoying them, then getting back at it- but whatever will happen will be amazing.

Wilder was pushed on who he would face next, he said:  "I'm going with [Tyson] Fury. For sure.

"It was a  a controversial fight and when it's like that you've got to come right back- there can't be no draws

"There's a winner and a loser. With that being said it would be dumb to fight someone else when you've already got a fight that people are already talking about. Why break that spirit?

"There ain't nobody done what I've done this year."
