Who is Terence Crawford and what is his boxing record?

The American, 31, will put his WBO welterweight title on the line as he faces the Bolton star at Madison Square Garden.

Who is Terence Crawford?

KNOWN as 'Bud', Crawford was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1987.

He took up boxing aged just seven and immediately showed signs of talent, taking part in 70 amateur bouts and losing just 12 times.

At one time he was the highest-ranked lightweight in the US, but just missed out on the 2008 Olympics and turned pro in the same year.

Since turning professional, Crawford has excelled in the lightweight, light-welterweight and welterweight divisions.

And the southpaw held the WBO, Ring magazine and lineal lightweight titles from 2014 to 2015, as well as the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, Ring and lineal light welterweight titles between 2015 and 2017.

His latest triumph was stepping up to welterweight and stopping Jeff Horn back in June of last year to claim the WBO crown.

Having successfully made a mandatory defence of that belt against José Benavidez Jr, Crawford will now test his mettle against Amir Khan on April 20.

What is his boxing record?

CRAWFORD is regarded as one of the finest pound-for-pound fighters of his generation.

He has a pro record of 34-0, with 25 of those wins coming by way of knockout.

All but one of his fights have taken place on American soil, with his 2014 win over Ricky Burns the exception.
