Who is Tamara Marthe?

Tamara Marthe was born in 1985 in Trappes, a suburb west of Paris, to a French mother and a father from Martinique.

Growing up, she was a fan of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Beyonce, but her favourite band was French Caribbean R&B group zouk.

After completing her exams at the age of 17 she went to Paris and submitted demo tracks to a number of French labels.

She was ultimately discovered by Lebanese-Canadian rapper K.Maro and adopted the stage name Shy'm.

The name comes from the word shy, combined with M for Martinique.

How long has she been dating Benoit Paire?

Paire publicly declared that the pair were in a relationship in September 2015, just under a year after he broke up with fellow French singer Pauline Vasseur.

Although it is likely that they were dating for many months before as Tamara was regularly seen at his matches.

She is still regularly seen supporting her man and was present at Roland Garros 2017.
