Tyson Fury's next fight WILL be in Britain as promoter Bob Arum says it is 'very important' WBC champ has UK homecoming

TYSON FURY will return to fight in Britain next as his US promoter Bob Arum stressed the importance of a UK homecoming.

Fury has boxed Stateside five times in a row, four consecutively in Las Vegas after signing with legendary promoter Arum and his Top Rank stable.

Most recently, the Gypsy King put on an 11 round thriller with Deontay Wilder, 36, which ended with a brutal knockout to end their trilogy series in style.

Now, Fury is due to fight Dillian Whyte, 33, in a mandatory defence and Arum wants the WBC champion to receive a hero's welcome after so long on the road.

He told Sky Sports: "It is very, very important that Tyson, having done his last five fights in the US, that he goes back and does a fight in the UK.

"He is a Brit, he has plenty of fans in the UK, and if he does a fight in the UK then comes back to the US, he will bring 10,000 Brits with him.

"American fans have to learn to sing like the Brits!"

With Arum set up in Sin City, Fury's UK promoter Frank Warren is due to hold talks over the heavyweight's return, which could come in just five months.

He said: "Frank Warren is going to Manchester to meet Fury to work out a date. It could be March or April, but no later than April."

The WBC had ordered the winner between Whyte and Otto Wallin on Saturday to then fight Fury.

But Whyte was forced to withdraw after sustaining a shoulder injury, leaving Wallin, 30, out in the cold.

The British contender – who has waited well over three years for his shot at the title – has confirmed his intentions to fight Fury on his return.

But Joe Joyce, 35, who is promoted by Warren and currently the WBO mandatory challenger, is another option for the Gypsy King.

Arum said: "Who Fury fights next will be determined by Fury. If the fight is in the UK, I would think Whyte would be a good possibility, as well as Joyce."
