Tony Ferguson slams 'washed up' Conor McGregor and claims UFC rival has 'no balls to fight top contender'

TONY FERGUSON claims Conor McGregor has ‘no balls’ as he took aim at the UFC legend.

Notorious is preparing for a return to the cage and looks set to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on January 23.

That showdown is yet to be confirmed with an official contract still to be signed.

That will be McGregor’s first fight since he destroyed Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in just 40 seconds back in January.

The Irishman hit out at his critics after that victory after they accused him of facing easy opponents.

Now Ferguson has poured further fuel on the fire by claiming the outspoken McGregor is scared to face the lightweight division’s top contenders.

He tweeted: “No Balls To Fight A Top Contender. @TheNotoriousMMA you’re washed up laddy. It’s Improper TUF 13 Bish’ Champ S**t Only™️ You Will Always Be A Replica, Coward. Congrats On The Success # TheItalianJob See you soon Leprechaun. -Champ.”

Poirier is undoubtedly a formidable opponent, with many fans left questioning Ferguson’s claims.

But it seems ‘El Cucuy’ was referring to the former two-weight world champ appearing to accept a fight with Rafael dos Anjos.

The Brazilian-American called out McGregor after defeating Paul Felder at UFC Vegas 14 this weekend.

McGregor then clarified he would only be open to facing Dos Anjos once he was through with Poirier.

Former interim champ Ferguson, who lost to Justin Gaethje in May, looks set to go one-on-one with Michael Chandler next.

Their anticipated showdown is due to happen at UFC 256 on December 12.

But it seems after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement, Ferguson is now turning his focus onto trying to get a match with Notorious.
