Tom Brady is sort of on Antonio Brown’s side in helmet mess
Just because Tom Brady isn’t threatening to boycott the league, doesn’t mean he is happy with the NFL’s new helmet policy.
“I’ve been experimenting with a couple different ones, and I don’t really love the one that I’m in, but I don’t really have much of a choice,” the Patriots quarterback told WEEI on Monday morning. “So I’m just trying to do the best I can to work with it.”
The models that Brown and Brady wear have been banned by the NFL this season and the league made it clear on Monday morning that there would be no exceptions.
Brady went to the newer model last season before switching back to his older model. Now, the new helmet is mandatory for safety reasons.
“You get used to the same helmet for a long period of time,” Brady said. “My last helmet, I wore it the last four Super Bowls, so it was a pretty great helmet for me. I hated to put it on the shelf. It’s kind of what I’m dealing with.”
Brown has reportedly threatened to quit the NFL if they do not acquiesce. Brady is just going to make the best out of it.
