Thursday's horse racing NAP: Your best bets for today's racing at Sandown, Goodwood and Chelmsford from Callum Jamieson

AFTER a quiet start to the week, the racing bursts into life on Thursday.

Sandown hosts its brilliant Brigadier Gerard card and the action at Goodwood is intriguing too. I've got three bets across the cards.

We start off at Goodwood and I'm hoping for a bit of each-way value on GRACE AND DANGER (Goodwood, 4.20).

She's only had the two runs thus far and has shown a decent level in both, despite obvious signs of inexperience.

She won on debut at two before being thrown into an Oaks Trial at Chester. That all came a bit quick, as she played up when getting a few bumps out of the stalls.

Saying that, she shaped nicely after that and finished encouragingly behind John Gosden's Oaks fancy Mehdaayih.

This drop in trip will suit and she would have learnt plenty at Chester in a rough and ready race.

Goodwood is no walk in the park, but I'm happy to take on the John Gosden pair with this unexposed Andrew Balding filly.

To the main event now, and PROPER BEAU (Sandown, 6.35, NAP) is a strong fancy in the Listed two-year-old heat.

It's plenty more open than the betting has it, and despite being super impressive at Chester, Full Authority is a horse I want to take on.

Bryan Smart's juvenile made an unexpected winning debut early in the season at Musselburgh and has been kept quiet since.

Smart wasn't shy of talking him up, but was quick to point out he was one for later in the season.

He won very well that day and beat a well-regarded Mark Johnston horse, which won by nearly five lengths on his next outing.
