Thursday's horse racing NAP: Your best bet for today's racing from Callum Jamieson

Not as thin as Bully's beard though, and we go again on Thursday with a good thing on the all weather.

LUCYMAI (Chelmsford, 7.30) is back in handicap company for the in form Dean Ivory.

She loves Chelmsford like The Bull loves a Tesco meal deal, and the small field is tailor made for her.

All her wins have come on the all weather, five of them at the Essex track and after an unsuccessful stint in Listed company and on the grass it's no surprise Ivory has his mare back here.

She took a similar heat off the same mark over course and distance in August and all the signs point to another big run.

Jack Duern takes off a valuable three pounds and the draw in two suits her positive running style.

In terms of her rivals, Salateen and Crossing The Line are the obvious threats.

I've ruled out the latter – famous last words – on Andrew Balding's sticky spell. While Salateen can blow hot and cold and doesn't win half as often as he should.

Up the Lucymai.

Elsewhere on Thursday…

My only other fancy on Thursday is SNAPDRAGON FIRE (Wincanton, 2.05), a horse on the up for trainer Tom Lacey. He'll be hoping the rain stays away, and if it does it looks as if the handicapper could be playing catch up a little longer.

The right handed track is a big plus and the booking of Richard Johnson clearly takes the eye.
