Despite restrictions brought on by COVID-19, Dana White and the UFC were still able to deliver an impressive series of events without crowds throughout 2020. Celebrating a year full of highlights, the leading mixed martial arts promotion recently shared its nominees for 2020 Knockout of the Year and 2020 Event of the Year.

Asking fans to vote for their picks on the UFC website, Twitter or Facebook pages, leading the compilation of memorable knockouts is Kevin Holland’s recent sitting knockout of Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at UFC 256. Followed by Cody Garbrandt’s counter right knockout of Raphael Assuncao from UFC 250, Joaquin Buckley’s viral knockout of Impa Kasanganay and Khaos Williams’ emphatic knockout of Abdul Razak Alhassan.

While the sheer number of 2020 Event of the Year nominees and accompanying Best Commentator Reactions of 2020 stands to prove how MMA came to be one of the only sports that thrived during the pandemic.
