A history of Trevor Bauer’s many controversies

One Mets star is crowing about the development of a potential Mets star in-the-making.

First baseman Dominic Smith and centerfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong took batting practice together, according to photos in a tweet earlier this week from Baseball Generations academy in Southern California.

“This kid is gonna be a stud,” Smith replied in reference to Crow-Armstrong. He added two “cold face” emojis.

Crow-Armstrong was the Mets’ 2020 first-round draft pick (19th overall) out of the Los Angeles-based and elite Harvard-Westlake High program. He signed for a $3.3 million bonus but didn’t get to start his professional career because minor-league baseball was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Smith was the Mets’ first-round draft pick in 2013 and, after a slow start to his career, has blossomed in the every-day lineup the past two seasons. He demonstrated much-improved power as he hit .316 with 10 home runs and a career-high 42 RBIs over 50 games in 2020.
