Ramsey has played his last game for Arsenal fears Emery as star suffers hamstring injury in impressive Europa League triumph over Napoli

UNAI EMERY hailed his Arsenal heroes after they booked their place in the Europa League semi-finals.

But the Gunners boss fears that Aaron Ramsey could have played his last game for the club after suffering a hamstring injury during last night’s 1-0 win at Napoli.

Ramsey, who leaves for Juventus at the end of the season, limped away from the Stadio San Paolo and could not give any indication on how long he is likely to be out.

He attempted to tackle Piotr Zielinski in the middle of the park but as he poked in with his toe, he immediately clutched his leg.

But with only six weeks to go before the Europa League final in Baku, the Welshman is facing a race against time to play another game for the Gunners.

Emery admitted:  “It’s a hamstring injury and normally that means some weeks outside the team.

“He has played his last game for us? I don’t know.

“He was in a very good moment and working very well with a big behaviour and a big commitment to do something important.

“But we have other players who are ready and waiting.”

Alexandre Lacazette’s first-half free-kick was enough to seal a 3-0 aggregate win victory and the Frenchman said: “I’ve been practising my free-kicks in training and my team-mates believed in me.”

Skipper Laurent Koscielny added: “We came here with the ambition to score some goals to win the game and we did it with Laca.

“We fought and we suffered together to keep the clean sheet which will be important for our confidence for the rest of the season.”

Arsenal do not play fantastic football but they are an intelligent team and they deserved the victory

Now Arsenal face Emery’s former club Valencia in next month’s semi-final and he said: “I am proud of my players and and the big personality they have showed.

“We have shown the players have the ability to play against big opponents in a tough atmosphere.

“I grew up in this competition and the Europa League gives us a good opportunity to do something important and to play in the Champions League next year.

“But first we must face Valencia and they are a very good team and it will be a difficult match for us.”

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti said: “Arsenal do not play fantastic football but they are an intelligent team and they deserved the victory.

“I wish them the  best for the Europa League.”
