Premier League's worst Valentine's Day gifts: From Bournemouth's heart jelly sweets to Huddersfield's cheeky pants

THAT'S one of many gifts that the Premier League's top clubs are encouraging their fans to gift their loved ones this Valentine's Day.

Obviously, the day of love gives the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City the opportunity to cash in on those who love spoiling their partners.

But if you're planning on giving them any of this tat, you might want to think about sleeping on the couch tonight.

A mug is for life, not just for Valentine's Day.

The Arsenal are providing this splendid cup, probably because Gooners haven't lifted one for a while, that you can personalise with your partner's name on it.

For £12, you'd probably be a mug to part with that kind of money.

If it's a filling you're after this Valentine's Day, why not try special themed sweet from the Cherries.

The South Coast side are offering loved-up couples heart themed jelly sweets in red and white (why no black?)

For £3.50 you also get a resealable tub with Bournemouth's crest on it.

Time-keeping is clearly an important part of keeping your missus happy, according to the Seagulls.

They've partnered with Sekonda to produce a man's watch with a clock face that's blue and emblazoned with a seagull.

Priced at £45, it's not going to rock the boat too much this Valentine's Day.

If you live up North, you're likely to need a mouse mat, Burnley believe.

That's why The Clarets are suggesting you could buy this perfect accompaniment for your home computer in their wonderful colours.

For £7.99 you could surely think of better ways to say I love you to your partner that won't end in being dumped or divorced?

'Best Husband Ever' mugs are the rage.

That's why The Bluebirds are hoping their loyal supporters will want a personalised cup with their name on it as a present.

In fairness, it's a better value than Arsenal's at £10.99.

Maurizio Sarri might be needing a cuddle from this little fella right now.

The Blues have got into the festive spirit by offering their fans a white bear with a Chelsea badge heart. Aw!

It's the bear necessities you could do for a Chelsea fan in need of some loving right now for £10.

Crystal Palace

The Eagles have gone all traditional this year.

Chocolate is such a universal gift for Valentine's Day, enjoyed by both sexes, so they've not missed a trick in South London.

And they've got you covered with white chocolate, milk chocolate, orange chocolate and mint chocolate bars for £2.50 for a 100g bar.

Toffees fans that wear suits take note.

Everton are giving their supporters the opportunity to buy some gold cufflinks for their partners.

Antique gold plated, they're priced at a reasonable £15 if you want to wear your heart on your sleeve.

Forget a sweet message, symbol of flowers, puppies or anything else sickly you might find on a card.

If you're a Cottager, it's all about a specially themed Fulham card with a heart, decorated in the colours of the club, and of course the club's badge is on there.

For £3 you'd get better value in Paperchase.

It would be fair to say Huddersfield's season has been pants, and their Valentine's Day present is symbolic of affairs on the pitch.

The Terriers have teamed up with Oddballs, who make comedy underwear, for these specially themed gems that cost a tenner.

Lads, stick to Victoria's Secret – I can assure you no lady will want these in their life.

Leicester City

Not sure about you, but rather than go out for a nice dinner on Valentine's Day I'd rather have a game of cards with the missus, said no one.

But maybe The Foxes are thinking a little more saucier than we could've orginally believed with this £5 themed deck.

Strip poker, anyone?

Scouse wit is in full glory with this Valentine's Day gift.

'My Bird Loves Her Bling' is written on this T-shirt The Reds are peddling for £15.

Underneath is a nod to all the trophies the club's won over the years. But word to the wise; should Liverpool win the title this year it'll be out of date.

Manchester City

It's almost like City believe that all their fans are as well groomed as boss Guardiola.

They're offering a luxury six piece wooden grooming set that features hair and body wash, body moisturiser, aftershave and a nail care set.

It's currently reduced from £50 to £27.

Manchester United

The Red Devils have certainly been thinking pink this season.

Their away shirt is pale shade of it, while their Valentine's Day gift is the same colour – as a lovely bathrobe (for the lady) with a hood. People forget it rains in Manchester.

At £18, it's a bargain. But is it as scratchy as United's early season form?

Newcastle United

It's almost like some clubs are having a laugh at their struggles this Valentine's Day.

Rafa Benitez has been trying to solve the puzzle of keeping Newcastle United in the Premier League on a budget all season.

If their fans like puzzles too, why not try this specially themed Rubik cube with St James Park as one of the images you can unlock to see its full glory. £15 that'll cost you.

At times, The Saints' defenders have stood like statues.

Any wonder then that their Valentine's Day gift is a £18 garden gnome dressed in a full Southampton kit with a ball at his feet.

Funnily enough, it's wearing the famous no.7 jersey worn by Mat Le Tissier. They've not moved on down there, have they?

Any Spurs fans hoping they'd get a new stadium for Valentine's Day have been sadly mistaken.

It's just a £20 T-shirt that's could be a treat for female Tottenham fans, but it does offer you a bit of nostalgia.

In the middle of a grey heart is a shot of White Hart Lane. Touching and heartfelt.

Hornets fans are also in need of a cup or two, which makes their Valentine's Day gift appropriate, if not a bit tatty.

They've also gone with a mug that celebrates the day, as well as the gift receivers love for Tory Deeney and Co.

Cheapest mug on the list at £2.

West Ham

Earlier in the season, people thought Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini might've been in for the chop.

What they didn't realise was West Ham's merchandising team were planning on bringing out a chopping board for their fans on Valentine's Day.

The words for their famous anthem "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles' are scratched into it. £25 it would set you back.

There's not many better places to be this season than Molineux, and that's precisely what they're thinking with their Valentine's Day gift for your partner.

Why not treat them to a three course meal at the club's Hayward Suite, strangely scheduled for the 15th, with a Robbie Williams tribute act called Ollie Hughes thrown in for good measure.

Tickets cost £31.50 per person.
