Paul Pogba handed instant Man United recall by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Cardiff

The much-maligned French World Cup winner was named in the Norwegian's starting XI for this evening's clash at Cardiff.

As expected, David de Gea lines up in goal for United behind a back four of captain Ashley Young at right-back, Luke Shaw on the left, with Victor Lindelof and Phil Jones at centre-half.

Pogba appears to have have been given the task of supporting the attack from the middle of the park, with Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic sitting.

Anthony Martial is expected to start on the left flank, with Jesse Lingard operating down the other.

And with Romelu Lukaku missing on compassionate leave, Marcus Rashford leads the line for United.

Sergio Romero, Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot, Andreas Pereira, Marouane Fellaini, Fred and Juan Mata are the substitutes Solskjaer will have to choose from.

Here's the full line-ups for both teams:

Cardiff City: Etheridge, Ecuele Manga, Morrison (C), Bamba, Cunningham, Gunnarsson, Arter, Camarasa, Hoilett, Murphy, Paterson

Subs: Smithies, Peltier, Ralls, Zohoro, Decordova-Reid, Mendez-Laing, Harris
