Nottingham Forest ‘join Fulham in Neco Williams race with Liverpool open to £15m deal after Calvin Ramsay transfer’ | The Sun

NOTTINGHAM FOREST have joined Fulham in the race to sign Liverpool full-back Neco Williams, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claim that Jurgen Klopp's side value the Welshman at £15million.

Liverpool have signed right-back Calvin Ramsey from Aberdeen for £6.5million and he is expected to be the back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Therefore, it opens the door for Williams to leave the club permanently.

Last season he was loaned out to Fulham and impressed helping the side gain promotion back to the Premier League.

He featured 15 times for the Cottagers scoring twice and registering two assists.

As a result, Fulham seem to be in a good position to bring him back but Forest, Southampton and PSV Eindhoven are reportedly set to battle them for his signature.

Forest remain keen on Djed Spence, who starred for the club on loan last campaign, but if a deal doesn't materialise Williams is an alternative.

The 21-year-old will want regular first-team football to nail down his spot in the Wales starting XI ahead of the World Cup.

The summer is expected to be big for Nottingham Forest. SunSport exclusively revealed owner Evangelos Marinakis is likely to splash the cash to bolster the squad ahead of their Premier League return.

Reports suggest they are already nearing a deal for Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi for £17.5million.

The transfer would break the club's record spend on one signing.

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has also been linked with a move to the City Ground amid claims Brice Samba wants to leave.
