Maurizio Sarri ready to hijack Chelsea’s Moussa Dembele move as Juventus join transfer race – The Sun
JUVENTUS have reportedly joined Chelsea in the race for Moussa Dembele.
Calcio Mercato claims Maurizio Sarri is prepared to hijack his former club’s move for the Lyon star this month as he trails Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan in the Serie A title race.
Juventus have won Italy’s top league for the last EIGHT straight seasons.
But Inter have kept pace this term with Conte, another old Chelsea boy, at the helm.
And thanks to Romelu Lukaku’s 14 strikes, they sit at the top of the table on goal difference.
Sarri wants a new striker to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and relieve him of some of the goalscoring burden.
Paulo Dybala is better at the tip of Juve’s midfield diamond, while Gonzalo Higuain has struggled for form and Mario Mandzukic has just completed a move to Qatari side Al-Duhail.
Juventus forwards' Serie A goal stats
Cristiano Ronaldo: 13 goals
Gonzalo Higuain: 5 goals
Paulo Dybala: 5 goals
Aaron Ramsey: 1 goal
Federico Bernardeschi: 0 goals
Douglas Costa: 0 goals
