Man City 'have transfer bid rejected by Lyon for Tanguy Ndombele' as Pep looks for Fernandinho replacement after title win

LYON have reportedly rejected a bid from Manchester City for Tanguy Ndombele.
The Manchester Evening News claims Pep Guardiola put forward a £43million offer after winning a second consecutive Premier League title on Sunday.
But Lyon want much more than that due to interest from other clubs.
Ndombele has enjoyed a fine season in Ligue 1, earning a call-up to the French national side.
He is technically sound while being a physical and athletic presence on the field.
Those attributes have put City on red alert, with the club desperate to land a new defensive midfielder.
Veteran Fernandinho, 33, could be entering his final Etihad season.
And Ndombele, 22, would be a fine long-term replacement for that position in Guardiola’s XI.
However, City will have to wrap up a deal fast to avoid being embarrassed by Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Inter Milan.
It’s believed Lyon value him closer to a whopping £70m.
And City could instead be tempted to go for Atletico Madrid’s Rodri, who has a £60m release clause.
Guardiola would also a new attacking central midfielder following Kevin De Bruyne’s injury problems.
Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno Fernandes has been tipped for a move to the champions after scoring 31 goals this term.
Benfica’s Joao Felix has also been linked, but he could cost a mind-boggling £100m.
