Liverpool targeting Argentine wonderkid Facundo Farias, 19, in summer transfer window, according to youngster's agent

LIVERPOOL are targeting a move for Argentine wonderkid Facundo Farias.

That’s according to the player’s agent, who also warns the Reds face strong competition from Boca Juniors.

Farias, 19, currently plies his trade as an attacking midfielder for Club Atletico Colon.

The teenager is being widely heralded as one of Argentina’s top prospects with eight goals and seven assists in 48 games.

And Liverpool are now keen on snapping him up this summer.

That’s despite interest from Boca Juniors, who are prepared to use one of their own players as bait.

Farias’ agent Martin Sendoa told TNT Futbol: “I’m waiting for a video call from Liverpool.

“I have to talk to them because they want to buy him.

“No one has called me from either Boca or Colon. I know they were in Buenos Aires for Ramon Abila.

“If they contact me, we will make a decision. If Boca comes to buy and it suits them for the future of Facu and Colon, we will see.”

Should Liverpool make a move for Farias, they will follow in Man City’s footsteps by poaching a top young Argentine talent.

The champions moved for a new striker last month by wrapping up a deal for River Plate’s Julian Alvarez.

However, he will see out the rest of the season in Argentina before moving to the Etihad this summer.
