Liverpool finish summer transfer business eleven weeks early with £6.5m deal for Aberdeen full-back Calvin Ramsay | The Sun

LIVERPOOL are set to announce their third signing of the summer and in doing so complete their transfer business for the year.

Aberdeen full-back Calvin Ramsay will follow £85million arrival Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho through the doors at Anfield.

The Reds and Scottish side Aberdeen have agreed a £6.5million fee for the 18-year-old right-back.

An initial £4m will be paid up-front, with the deal worth a further £2.5m in add-ons, a record sale for the SPL outfit.

And in signing Ramsay the Mail claim Liverpool's business has concluded for the summer, eleven-weeks before the transfer window closes.

Carvalho and Nunez have already been recruited, with the Reds happy to wait another until 2023 to make more additions.

Ramsay is a Scottish U21 international, who's 33 appearances for Aberdeen last year saw him crowned Scotland’s Young Player of the Year.

But opportunities at Anfield could be scarce, with the teenager set to play second fiddle to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Ramsay will not travel to Merseyside for a medical and to finalise personal terms ahead of of linking up with Jurgen Klopp's squad for pre-season.

Fellow Prem side Leeds were also thought to be keen on his signature.

His arrival means Klopp's squad is set long before their campaign gets underway on August 7 with a trip to Fulham.

The club are understood to be eager to recruit a midfielder with skipper Jordan Henderson and Thiago both in their thirties.

Meanwhile Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are both out of contract in 2023, and the latter has been linked with an exit this summer.

But Ramsay's arrival is said to represent Liverpool's final signing ahead of the new season.

French midfielder Aurelian Tchouameni was a target before he joined Real Madrid, while there has been continued interest from Anfield in Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

Although Reds fans will have to wait until 2023 to welcome any new additions in the middle of the park.
