Klopp slams Uefa saying they are 'killing' the game ahead of Liverpool vs Spurs Champions League final

JURGEN KLOPP launched a double whammy at Uefa as he claimed they are “killing” the game.

The Liverpool boss has long been a strident critic of staging the Nations League this summer, originally insisting it was senseless.

He said: “Everybody looked at me when I said it was not such a good idea.

"And whoops, two English teams are in the Champions League final.

“We play June 1, then on June 6 there is this Nations League.

"If we don’t learn to deal with players better, it’s the only chance to kill this wonderful game.”

Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions face Holland in the semi-final and ten players from Liverpool and Tottenham could be involved.

They are expected to get only one day off following the all-English final at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium – before three days' training with England.

Klopp added: “It’s not Gareth’s fault. But being surprised at two top teams being in the final — that’s not good planning.”

He also took a swipe at Uefa over their staging of the Europa League final in Azerbaijan.

He said: “These guys who make the decisions, I don’t know what they have for breakfast.”
