Jose Mourinho’s shocked reaction to Dele Alli’s sensational flick assist as fans go mad for Spurs star against West Ham – The Sun

JOSE MOURINHO looked stunned after Dele Alli pulled off an incredible flick during the win over West Ham.

The England international looked back to his best after the new Spurs boss urged him to rediscover the player he was two years ago.

Alli silenced his critics as he produced the "pass of the season" during the 3-2 win over the Hammers.

The midfielder ended up on his backside after a sloppy pass from Eric Dier landed behind him.

Instead of letting the ball go out of play, the 23-year-old managed to flick the ball through to Son Heung-min with his trailing foot.

The South Korea international raced up the pitch before he delivered the ball into the box to create Lucas Moura's goal.

Mourinho appeared to impressed by Alli's moment of magic on the touchline – and he was not the only one.

One Twitter user said: "Dele Alli has just played the pass of the season whilst laying on his back. Fair play, lad. Fair play."

Another added: "Oh my god, that is the pass of the season from Dele Alli. Incredible."

And one supporter posted: "Dele Alli's flick in the build up to Moura's goal was borderline disrespectful. I loved it."

As well as creating the second goal, Alli slipped the ball through to Son for Tottenham's opener in the 36th minute.

Before the match, Mourinho said: “I asked him if he was Dele or Dele’s brother? He told me he was Dele. I said ‘OK, play like Dele’.”

Following his impressive performance against West Ham, Alli responded: "He made a joke about it. A lot of people have been talking about that for a few years now so it’s nothing new to me.

"I’ve been performing well this season despite results. Individually I haven’t been playing that bad. A lot of people ask if I am going to find my old form but I don’t want to find that form.

"I want to get better than that and reach my full potential. People might think I played bad or good today but we won, so I’m happy."
