Jets acquire longtime Ranger Kevin Hayes

The Winnipeg Jets have traded for center Kevin Hayes from the New York Rangers.

Hayes, a Boston native and a veteran of the U.S. national team, has been a Ranger since the 2014-15 season, putting up 216 points in 364 NHL games.

The price for Hayes is forward Brendan Lemieux and the Jets’ 2019 first-round draft pick, as well as a conditional fourth-round pick – if the Jets win the Stanley Cup this season.

The newly-acquired Kevin Hayes apparently has some Winnipeg Jets fandom in his past.
