Islanders stay alive with thrilling Game 6 OT win over Lightning

The Islanders are still alive.

Facing elimination and potentially their last game at Nassau Coliseum, the Islanders defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in overtime, 3-2, on Wednesday night to push the semifinal to a Game 7.

Anthony Beauvillier scored the game-winning goal for the Islanders.

Jordan Eberle and Scott Mayfield also scored for the Islanders, while the Lightning received goals from Anthony Cirelli and Brayden Point.

The Islanders will have to beat the Lightning on Friday in Tampa to return to the Coliseum for the Stanley Cup final.

The Islanders are expected to move from Nassau Coliseum, which they have called home for almost every season since 1972, to the newly constructed USB Arena at Belmont Park next season.
