How Chelsea could line up after £200m transfer splurge with SIX new signings including Sterling in new-look front three | The Sun

CHELSEA are reportedly set to fork out £200million on SIX new signings this summer.

New Blues owner Todd Boehly is eager to hand boss Thomas Tuchel the tools to narrow the gap with Manchester City and Liverpool.

Tuchel and Co will also have to fend off Tottenham and Arsenal – while Manchester United could improve under Erik ten Hag.

According to the Telegraph, Boehly has "promised" the German half a dozen signings, following the exits of Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia.

Chelsea have plenty of gaps to fill in their line up, particularly in defence following the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen – with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso also looking likely to depart.

Matthijs de Ligt has emerged as a key target, with reports claiming that the Dutchman has grown unsettled at Juventus.

He may be joined in front of Edouard Mendy at the back by Sevilla ace and long term Chelsea target Jules Kounde.

The duo could flank experienced centre-half Thiago Silva in a back three, or alternatively partner each other in a four.

Whether as full-backs or wing-backs, Ben Chilwell and Reece James' places will be safe, provided they are fit.

But Chelsea's midfield could change.

In a dream scenario, the Blues would recruit Declan Rice from West Ham – although they accept that it will be difficult to prise him from the East Londoners.

Should they be able to get him, however, he could partner his best pal Mason Mount in midfield.

Alternatively, he would be able to form a formidable trio with N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho or the returning Conor Gallagher.

Chelsea are targeting plenty of attackers, including the likes of Raheem Sterling, Ousmane Dembele and Richarlison.

They could form a deadly threesome, or compliment existing Chelsea stars such as Kai Havertz and Mount.

Romelu Lukaku is set to depart for Inter Milan on loan, and he could be followed out the door by Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic.
