Hockey: Final-term chief Mathavan aims to grow number of S'pore players

SINGAPORE – When Mathavan Devadas was first elected president of the Singapore Hockey Federation (SHF) in 2014, he set three main targets for himself: to increase the number of hockey clubs in Singapore, develop hockey interest group programmes and grow the base of players.

He had some success with SHF’s affiliates increasing from 30 then to 39, while its Learn to Play Hockey programme was launched last year at seven community clubs (CCs).
