Golden Knights’ Ryan Reaves ejected for late hit that injures Capitals’ Tom Wilson
Washington Capitals winger Tom Wilson is perhaps the most controversial player in the National Hockey League today, thanks to a list of hits that have earned him four suspensions since the start of the 2017-18 preseason.
But on Tuesday night, it was Wilson who was on the receiving end of a late hit from the Vegas Golden Knights' Ryan Reaves late in the second period.
Reaves nailed Wilson, who was looking the other way, shortly after the Capitals winger had played the puck ahead. Wilson's helmet popped off, and he landed face first on the ice.
The Golden Knights forward was assessed a five-minute major for interference and a 10-minute game misconduct.
