Gareth Bale transfer odds: MLS, Cardiff, Spurs favourites ahead of Real Madrid exit, one club has already rejected offer

GARETH BALE is leaving Real Madrid – and could be heading back to the UK.

Bale is in contention for Real Madrid's Champions League final against Liverpool on Saturday after returning to fitness.

It will undoubtedly be his last for Los Blancos after agent Jonathan Barnett confirmed his client would leave the Bernabeu after a turbulent eight-year spell.

The 32-year-old has barely featured this season, making just four starts and three substitute appearances in all competitions.

His departure has been inevitable for months given his contract expires in June, and Barnett has suggested the UK was Bale's most likely destination.

However, his future in football or early retirement hinges on whether or not Wales qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Barnett told Portuguese outlet Record: "Gareth is leaving Real Madrid, but we have to wait for what Wales do.

"Is it more likely to return to England? I think so, but we'll have to wait and see if Wales qualify."

Bale joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in September 2013 for a then world record £85.3million deal.

But now available for free — there's no shortage of contenders for his signature.

Bookmakers Betfair think he's heading Stateside with a move to the MLS priced at 5/4, narrowly ahead of Cardiff at 15/8.

A sensational return to Tottenham is available at 9/2, with Newcastle offered at 10/1.

He could potentially join compatriot Aaron Ramsey at Rangers (16/1), while Inter Milan, Celtic, Juventus, Manchester United and Villarreal are all locked together at 20s.

Bale was supposedly offered to Atletico Madrid in a meeting between his representatives and the Spanish club's sporting director Andrea Berta — who snubbed the proposal.

Spanish radio station Cadena COPE claimed Bale would like to remain in the Spanish capital as his family are settled.
