Friday's horse racing NAP: Your best bet for today's racing from Callum Jamieson

Here's hoping for a big run from this Exeter beast that's got all the talent in the world.

AWAKE AT MIDNIGHT (Exeter, 2.05) can keep the oil burning in what is a cracking little handicap chase.

Philip Hobbs' gelding has won his last two starts in fine style, including on chase debut last time out at Chepstow.

That looked a decent little race for the grade and the runner-up went on to fill the same spot next time, so the form looks solid.

The way he quickened up at the welsh track from off the pace suggests he has more in the tank and he's still majorly unexposed over the larger obstacles.

A relation to brilliant chaser Planet Of Sound, there's reason to believe Class 3 grade won't be the ceiling of his ability.

This step up in trip should suit and he gets the invaluable services of champ Richard Johnson.

Elsewhere on Friday…

Hiding away at Sandown is a competitive little Grade 2 that can go the way of TRUCKIN AWAY (2.25).

He was really impressive on reappearance at Ffos Las last time out and although the ground was bottomless that day, he still put them away with ease.

He'll take some beating and could give Hobbsy a day to remember.

As for threats, there are a couple that stand out. Siruh De Lac is improving fast for Nick Williams, while Risk And Roll is a danger at the bottom of the weights for big time trainer Paul Nicholls.

However, none look as progressive as my fellow and he can take this on the way to better things.
