Four Lives cast: Who stars in the BBC crime drama?

GET ready to see Stephen Merchant as you have never seen him before.

The Extras star is playing a serial killer in new BBC true crime drama Four Lives, and he is joined by a stellar cast.

Who's in the cast of Four Lives?

Four Lives is a drama that tells thetrue story of four victims of Stephen Port identified as Anthony Walgate, Gabriel Kovari, Daniel Whitworth, and Jack Taylor.

It is a story that also portrays the courage, struggles, fears and hope of their families and friends who worked tirelessly to find out what happened to them.

This incredible true crime show of course brings with it an incredible star line up.

Stephen Merchant plays serial killer Stephen Port.

The actor is also a writer, director, radio presenter and comedian who's best known for his collaborations with Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington.

Stephen famously teamed up with pal Ricky to co-write the popular British sitcom The Office, which ran in the UK from 2001-2003.

The pair also co-wrote and starred in Extras from 2005–2007.

In 2021, he created and starred in BBC comedy-thriller series The Outlaws, which follows seven strangers as they're forced to complete community service together.

Sheridan Smith as Sarah Sak

Sheridan plays Sarah Sak, the mother of Port's victim Anthony Walgate.

Actress Sheridan shot to fame in 1999 starring as Ralf Little's girlfriend in The Royle Family, and was later paired with him for the long-running sitcom Two Pints of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps.

For two series she played Rudi, the sister of James Corden's character Smithy in the BBC sitcom Gavin And Stacey.

Since then her star has soared and she has become Britain's leading actress.

Jaime Winstone as Donna Taylor

Jaime takes on the role of Donna Taylor, one of the sisters of Jack Taylor.

Actress Jaime is the daughter of hardman actor Ray Winstone.

Following in her father's footsteps, she has starred in many TV shows and films since entering the world of acting,

These include Made In Dagenham, Bullet Boy, Daddy's Girl, Kidulthood, Vincent (alongside her dad), Totally Frank, Goldplated and Dead Set.

Samuel Barnett as Ryan Edwards

Actor Samuel has performed on stage, film, television and radio.

He is best known for the stage and film versions of The History Boys by Alan Bennett.

On TV Samuel starred in BBC comedy Twenty Twelve and in the Showtime drama Penny Dreadful.

He played the lead role of Dirk Gently in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, the 2016 BBC America adaptation of the book series by Douglas Adams.

Rufus Jones as John Pape

Rufus began his career as one fifth of the comedy group Dutch Elm Conservatoire.

On TV, he is known for playing Doctor Foggerty in Julia Davis's award-winning dark comedy Hunderby, producer David Wilkes in W1A, and Miles Mollison in the BBC TV mini series The Casual Vacancy.

He also played Terry Jones in the BBC Four BAFTA-nominated Holy Flying Circus, Cosmo in comedy-drama Stag, and Tom in Julia Davis's Camping.

Robert Emms as Ricky

Actor Robert is best known for portraying Pythagoras in the BBC One fantasy-adventure series Atlantis.

He also took on the role of Leonid Toptunov in HBO's mini-series Chernobyl.

Robert is also known for playing Jack in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and the third season of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (2021).

Daniel Ryan as Adam Whitworth

Daniel is an actor who is best known for starring in ITV's The Bay.

His career started in 1997 when he landed his first recurring role on Trial & Retribution.

He has since gone on to star in a string of hit shows such as Mount Pleasant and Innocent.

Daniel is also known for his work in Casualty and Home Fires.

As well as starring in movies like Black Sea and Lipstick on Your Collar.

When does Four Lives start on BBC One?

The series kicks off on BBC One on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 9pm.

A total of three episodes, which are an hour long, will air nightly across that week.

The episodes will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Jeff Pope and Neil McKay created the series, which is directed by David Blair.
