Ex-Man Utd starlet Januzaj close to Roma transfer in £15.2m deal with Red Devils set to get 30 per cent cut – The Sun

ADNAN JANUZAJ is reportedly lining up a move to Italian giants Roma as he looks for a move away from Spanish side Real Sociedad.

As part of the deal, the winger's former club Manchester United will receive 30 per cent of the total fee, which is expected to be £15.2million.

The Belgian came through as a promising young star under Sir Alex Ferguson and had the belief in himself to say he wanted to emulate the levels of fellow ex-United ace Cristiano Ronaldo.

In 2014, Januzaj said: “I watch Cristiano a lot and try to do the same things that he does.

“He is a very good player. I always look at him and watch his games as well and try to do what he is doing and remember what he did at Manchester United.

“I have to work hard in the gym like he did because, when he came here, he wasn’t strong.

“But after a year or so he became really strong and could push people away. I’m getting a bit stronger now due to the gym work.”

But after two seasons where he played more than 20 games for the Premier League title challengers, he fell out of favour at Old Trafford.

Januzaj scored just five goals and provided a further six assists in 63 games for the Red Devils before becoming surplus to requirements.

Prior to his move to Sociedad, Januzaj went on loan to both Sunderland and Borussia Dortmund were he failed to stamp his authority on the starting line-up.
