Eddie Hearn bizarrely claims Anthony Joshua could snub Wilder and Fury by retiring if he wins Ruiz rematch – The Sun

EDDIE HEARN has bizarrely claimed Anthony Joshua could retire if he beat Andy Ruiz Jr in a rematch.

It would mean Joshua walking away from match-ups with Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

When asked if he would be interested in a fight for Joshua against Wilder should Fury pull out, Hearn told Boxing Social: "Yeah sure, the only focus for AJ is to win the fight against Ruiz.

"I think if Ruiz was to win, then [Al] Haymon will probably try and make the fight with Wilder ASAP.

"If AJ was to win, who knows what he’s going to do, he might retire, who knows.

"All the focus is just on beating Andy Ruiz and AJ becoming the unified world heavyweight champ again, for the third time."

Hearn also responded to bizarre shouts from fans quoting from the social media account 'No Context Hearn.'

The promoter and fighter Devin Haney were on Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

He told talkSPORT: "Normally when I walk down the street people shout out, ‘Oi Hearn…’ I won’t say any of those kind of words.

"Now it’s, ‘You’re that geezer – No Context Hearn.’

"So I guess I’ve become a little bit of a viral sensation.

"It’s just embarrassing because I do these interviews with Kugan Cassius – iFL TV – shout out to those guys, and we’re just like pals.

"So we just talk literally like we’re in the pub.

"They’re obviously pulling all these out of context and now it’s gone viral.

"It’s all good fun, you’ve just gotta embrace it. The guy actually sent me a message on Twitter – I think his name’s Andy.

"He’s just some young boxing fan and he’s like, ‘Do you mind me doing this?’

"I went: 'Mate, crack on, go for it.'"
