Diogo Jota gives Wolves Europa League boost with second-half winner at Watford

DIOGO JOTA gave Wolves revenge for their FA Cup semi-final defeat with a stunning winner at Vicarage Road.
The Portuguese forward stroked home from an outrageous 50-yard ball from Ruben Neves that split the Watford defence and found his team-mate on the edge of the six-yard box.
It was a sweet victory for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men after they were defeated at Wembley three weeks ago.
Raul Jimenez had put them in the lead just before the break when he nodded home Jota’s cross.
The Mexican put on a wrestling mask when he scored in the semi-final but this time just pointed to the name on his shirt.
Wolves looked in total control but gifted the equaliser to the hosts.
Ryan Bennett played a blind backpass and Gerard Deulofeu nipped in to intercept.
Rui Patricio stopped the Spaniard but Andre Gray rammed home into the empty net.
But then came Neves’ moment of magic to tee up Jota for the winner with 13 minutes left on the clock, edging them ahead in the race for seventh place.
That could be enough to get into Europe if Watford lose the FA Cup final.
And their chances were dented late on when Craig Cathcart limped off with a hamstring injury.
